Ford Focus RS is Coming!
After two generations overseas, the Ford Focus RS is coming home to excite gearheads in the U.S.A. This high-performance hatchback is more revved up than ever, and the spring of 2016 will bring it to California at Villa Ford.
One look at the Focus RS is enough to know this isn’t your run-of-the-mill hatchback. The visually kinetic body is designed for optimal aerodynamics and cooling, with a distinctive rear spoiler, large diffuser, and brake and engine cooling ducts. Thanks to these engineering refinements, this model RS exhibits 9% less drag over the previous model. Standard bixenon headlamps and 19-inch wheels add to the athletic style of the Focus RS. The interior is adorned with partial-leather, finely stitched Recaro sport seats, a soft-feel flat-bottomed steering wheel, leather-covered rim, alloy pedals, and eye-catching instrument graphics. The Focus RS will be available in the exclusive Nitrous Blue (a vibrant four-coat metallic finish), Stealth Gray, Shadow Black, and Frozen White.
The third-generation hot hatch Focus RS makes the heart flutter to see, and makes the heart pound to drive. Taking a page out of Mustang’s book, the 2.3L Ford EcoBoost turbo engine delivers over 315 horsepower using a new low-inertia twin-scoll turbocharger with a large compressor. The most powerful Ford RS braking system ever includes Brembo front calipers and twin “jet tunnels” for maximum brake cooling and performance.
Among its many driver-assistive technologies, selectable driving modes are a first for the Ford Focus RS. Drivers can match the car to the driving conditions with normal, sport, track, and an industry-first drift mode. This special drift mode modifies torque distribution, helping the driver achieve controlled oversteer drifts at the track. Additional fine tunings can be made for all-wheel drive, damper control, steering and engine response, Electronic Stability Control, and exhaust sound settings. Add the control of All-Wheel Drive, Dynamic Torque Vectoring, and a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, and this baby flies like the wind and corners like it’s on rails.
Keep an eye out for the Ford Focus S next spring at Villa Ford in Orange, CA.
